Rioters attacked police and hurled patrol bombs on the streets of Northern Ireland as Boris Johnson condemned yet another night of violence. The Northern Ireland Executive is to meet this morning to be briefed on the situation. In the most stark, youths on both sides of a west Belfast peace line pelted petrol bombs and other missiles at each other through Wednesday night. Nine officers were injured in Ballymena, taking to 41 the number injured in disorder across Northern Ireland since last Friday night. Opposition to the Northern Ireland Protocol and drugs seizures against a dissident faction of the UDA in south-east Antrim have also been blamed.
