The fact that the Belarusian doctors were released from captivity in Libya and returned home became known today early in the morning. Because of the civil war that erupted in Libya in 2011, today the country has neither an embassy of Belarus, nor an embassy of Russia. However, owing to the well-coordinated work of the Foreign Ministries of Libya, Russia, and Belarus, as well as direct support of the Head of Chechnya – Ramzan Kadyrov, the two doctors returned home. The doctors expressed their gratitude for the joint work of the Belarusian and Russian Foreign Ministries, as well as the help of the Chechen leader.
