Tesla lost $619 million in the third quarter and will miss its target of making 5,000 Model 3s a week by the end of the year TESLA VIA REUTERSIt’s rare to find Elon Musk in anything other than an optimistic mood, but that wasn’t the case on Wednesday. “I have to tell you I was really depressed about three or four weeks ago,” the boss of Tesla said on an earnings call after the company reported a thoroughly dismal third-quarter update. His depression may have returned the next day when the Republicans proposed eradicating a $7,500 credit for electric vehicle purchases in the United States. This would make Tesla’s new mass-market Model 3 all the more expensive on its home soil. Tesla bears are exasperated as to why Mr Musk is given such an easy ride when it comes to the electric carmaker’s financials (worsening) and bullish production deadlines (missed again).
