PUNTA GORDA — There was one major revelation Matthew Stephenson took away from the Charlotte High girls basketball program’s first trip to the Class 5A State Final 4 last season. Yet, they ended up back in Lakeland for the State Final 4, just like last season. Charlotte (19-8) will play Orlando Bishop Moore (22-6) in the second Class 5A state semifinal at 4 p.m. Thursday at the RP Funding Center, formerly The Lakeland Center. Last year, for the first time in program history, the Tarpons reached the State Final 4, losing to Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas, 62-48, in a state semifinal.
