Dunstan Downs station, spans Canterbury and Otago and includes sections of the Lindis Pass and the St Bathans Range, up to the Ahuriri River near Omarama. The remaining 9500ha section of the 12,350ha Dunstan Downs station would become conservation land through a tenure review proposal. The Government announced in 2018 it would end the system after fears some of New Zealand’s most valuable crown land was being privatised.
