Merrick Johnson also qualified for a semifinal match in the 175-pound division, but his match was not over by press time Friday night. Beatrice's Cole Karlin bounced back from his quarterfinal loss with a pinfall win in his second round consolation match of the 120-pound division. He won his first round consolation match by pin and his second consolation match 4-2. Gibson's consolation semifinal match was not over by press time Friday night.
