The Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter responded to callouts in the Nelson Lakes National Park and D'Urville Island on Wednesday afternoon. A beacon search, injured mountainbiker and a trip to D'Urville Island kept the rescue helicopter busy on Wednesday afternoon. Nelson Marlborough Rescue Helicopter pilot Dion Edgar said the crew responded to a locator beacon in the Nelson Lakes National Park at 2.30pm, a tramper at Lake Constance with a cut to the leg. At 4.30pm, they flew to Codgers Mountainbike Park in Nelson and took a 60-year-old man with a dislocated shoulder to Nelson Hospital. Shortly after, the helicopter was sent to Catherine Cove on d'Urville Island, taking a 49-year-old male with a cut to the head to Nelson Hospital.
