The Marina Beach Road is also required for the Republic Day parade rehearsals, scheduled to start from Thursday. A day later, students gathered on the Marina beach and their numbers grew through the day. The beach protesters stayed put through last night in spite of the authorities switching off the lights along the roads and the tower on the beach.
