Werner, who is wanted by Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea, responded publicly to rumours linking him with German champions Bayern – flatly shutting them down. ‘I’m actually no longer astonished at anything, but I have never seen a player make such a statement in response to rumours in public,’ Rummenigge told Bild. Werner, 24, has been linked with a move to the Premier League – with Liverpool thought to be in pole position to land him. ‘Since Timo has made progress under Julian Nagelsmann, his most important weapons, however, are the quick switching movement and his powerful finish.
