The Pāpāmoa Hills Regional Park will reopen on Wednesday at 1pm. A Bay of Plenty park will reopen on Wednesday after a person suffered a medical event and died on the weekend. The police were notified of the death at Pāpāmoa Hills Regional Park just after 10am on Sunday, and a spokeswoman said it appeared to be a medical event. The Bay of Plenty Regional Council said, on social media, the park was closed and a rāhui was put in place following the person’s death. The park would reopen at 1pm on Wednesday.
