Bay charter school opened by drilling and engineering firmMARION VAN DIJK/FAIRFAX NZ ACT leader David Seymour announced the two new charter schools on Tuesday. A school backed by a drilling and civil construction firm is one of two new charter schools announced today. Te Aratika Academy in Napier will be sponsored by Te Aratika Charitable Trust, a body recently established by Te Aratika Drilling which has interests around the North Island. The second school announced was Te Kōpuku High in Hamilton, sponsored by Kia Ata Mai Educational Trust. It will be a late immersion kaupapa maori special character school and target maori students.
