Politics of Tuesday, 20 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comA campaign strategist for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and former Member of Parliament for Suhum, Frederick Opare Ansah, has questioned the sincerity, credibility and political judgment of former Assin Central MP and NPP presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong. Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show with host Omanhene Kwabena Asante, the former legislator described Kennedy Agyapong’s conduct as reckless, divisive and injurious to party unity. He stressed that for the peace pact to serve its intended purpose, all aspirants must demonstrate discipline and respect, insisting that Kennedy Agyapong must first be called to order. In the video, Agyapong alleged that Dr Bawumia falsely told party delegates that Prof Adu Boahen was not retained due to ill health, repeatedly branding the former vice president a “serial liar.”However, it later emerged that Dr Bawumia never made such a statement. The comment was rather made by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
