Against Uruguay, the team were functional, opportunistic and, in the second half, determined when down to 10 men. So, what have we learned from these two first games? The first lesson is that Lionel Messi is a key player for Argentina. Bauza can at least be happy that he’s still an Argentina player after all. But Bauza’s already gone one better than Alejandro Sabella in one respect: Sabella lost to Venezuela early in his Argentina tenure.
