The police rushed to the spot on the directive of Ballia superintendent of police Sujata Singh. On being contacted, Ballia SP Sujata said Buxar police had been provided relevant information about the incident. Dumraon police station house officer (SHO) Subodh Kumar said the police received information about the incident from their counterparts in Ballia. Earlier, Dumraon sub-divisional police officer Kamlapati Singh said the police have detained three suspects for interrogation in connection with the incident. An investigating officer said the girl had earlier eloped from her house with her boyfriend.
