Battalion 1944 review: No Call of Duty killer, but heralds the return of the classic WW2 shooter

It seems that our nostalgia for the simpler times has brought us back to the classic WW2 setting with Battalion 1944. This game was kick-started in 2016 where it raised £317,281 showing there is still a lot of interest for classic shooters. Another thing that may bother you is there is currently a lot of bunny hopping making people harder to shoot, but to be honest that just reminded me a lot of the games Battalion is based upon. (Image: Square Enix Co)The game offers multiple modes of play such as team death matches, deathmatch, capture the flag and Wartide. (Image: Square Enix Co)Most shots are one-hit kills so expect to spend some time wondering what the hell happened while your brain matter is explosively ejected onto the wall.
