At a time when the fate of the elections in Libya is shrouded in uncertainty, UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily stressed that many disputes plague the process. Bathily explained that the electoral process in Libya still faces many points of contention among Libyans, noting that these points require reaching a political agreement between the main political parties. He indicated that without reaching a complete consensus, the electoral process will face a dead end like the 2021 elections, and this will lead to a new crisis. The Security Council called for more pressure on the political parties concerned in order to overcome these differences in order to lead the country to elections, and asked the Libyan leaders to work to uphold the interests of the Libyans. It is noteworthy that the UN had confirmed that the political process in Libya had reached a sensitive stage.
