Batangas State University (BatStateU) has officially launched the country’s first Knowledge, Innovation and Science Technology (KIST) Park, gathering high-level officials that place the institution as a Special Economic Zone. The designation was presented by the Office of the President Deputy Executive Secretary for General Administration McJill Bryant Fernandez. “The KIST Park will help catalyze industrial productivity and increase the economic growth of Calabarzon. With the theme, “Toward a New Frontier of Knowledge-building and Innovation in Science & Technology,” the event on July 20 was graced by Department of Science and Technology Secretary Fortunato de la Peña, Batangas Gov. BatStateU is a Level 4 state university in the Calabarzon region, and the only state university and college in the country accredited by the United States Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology for its Engineering and Information Technology programs.
