KUALA LUMPUR: Segamat Basketball Association staved off a late surge from Selangor Megainn to claim their third Malaysia Women Basketball League (MWBL) title. The Johor-side ended Megainn’s title dream with a 55-51 win in yesterday’s final at the Maba Stadium. It was Megainn’s second loss in the final as they were beaten 56-68 by KL Binapuri last season. Singaporean import Cheryl Poon topscored for Segamat with 19 points while centre R. Kalaimathi contributed 10 points. For Megainn, point guard Chong Yin Yin had 19 points while Saw Wei Yin added 14 points.
