Basketball: National Basketball League accept Wellington Saints' protest

The National Basketball League board has accepted the Wellington Saints' protest. The Saints taped over the NBL logo on their singlets during their game against the Canterbury Rams in protest over a recent ruling made against forward Josh Duinker. Duinker has been re-classified as an import rather than a local player after the Rams pointed out he has represented the Netherlands. In a statement, the NBL says they understand the Saints are upset with the ruling and that it may be restricting for them if they look to contact other players this season. For now, the league accept their protest, but it's within the board's power to carry out some form of disciplinary procedure, such as a fine.
