Srinagar: A 61-year-old man died in a road accident during clashes in the city and 14 others were injured in action by security forces across Kashmir valley on Tuesday, even as protests erupted again in some areas after authorities lifted curfew from the entire valley except Anantnag town. In Anantnag district’s Malaknag area, protesters took to the streets, leading to clashes with law enforcement agencies, the official said. He said stone-pelting took place in Chanapora and Natipora in civil lines areas of the city but no injuries were reported. Although the lifting of curfew coincided with the separatist camp suspending the strike after 2pm on Tuesday till Wednesday morning, most parts of the valley continue to observe a shutdown. The commercial hub of Lal Chowk and adjoining areas remained closed even after 2pm while only groceries and shops selling essentials were opened in other parts of the valley, the official said.
