Barclays will soon charge to replace debit cards if more than one is lost or damaged in a year. Those who need an urgent replacement can pay £12 for a temporary card printed at 150 selected branches. HSBC, Santander, Lloyds, Nationwide, NatWest and others do not charge for replacement bank cards. Mobile bank Monzo offers two free replacement cards and charges £5 thereafter. The charge will not apply to children with a BarclayPlus or Young Person’s account, or to those with the bank’s basic current account.
