Barcelona-Luxor, Aswan flights to resume in 2019

Spanish charter airline Master Flights has announced the resumption of its direct routes from Barcelona to Luxor and Barcelona to Aswan, beginning April 2019. The move follows increased demand for both destinations, after Spain reduced its warnings on travelling to Egypt since 2013. Last week, the company signed the renewal of its already-existing flights from Madrid to the two Egyptian cities, with the schedule now extended from November 2018 to November 2019. However, according to Russian state media outlet Russia Today, at least 3.16 million tourists are expected to visit Egypt thanks to Russia’s decision to lift a ban on direct flights to Cairo. In 2017, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) ranked Egypt as the world’s second fastest growing destination.
