Although FC Barcelona really could've done with them on Tuesday night at Anfield, they need cool heads now to navigate through the next few tumultuous weeks. In the immediate aftermath of a result (a 4-0 loss to Liverpool in this case), it's rarely the right time to dissect that which has gone before. There's at least some rationale to their captures, given that both are from the Johan Cruyff school of football. Such an investment, should De Ligt finally put pen to paper, however, is a decent enough outlay for one transfer window. There will be the temptation to hoover up any other available talent, too, but that's never been the Barcelona model.
