Banks shut branches, curtail services


Banks in Hong Kong, including HSBC, Standard Chartered and others closed branches or curtailed their working hours today after a resurgence of coronavirus patients at the weekend. Bank of China (Hong Kong) said in a statement it would suspend services at nine branches due to the spread of the virus. It had already suspended services at three branches, one of which reopened on today. Standard Chartered and Bank of East Asia said they would shorten branch opening hours. Standard Chartered suspended services at four branches, including in West Kowloon Station Express Banking Centre, Causeway Bay branch, Canton Road branch, and Metroplaza branch.-Reuters/The Standard
