The central bank issued a circular in this regard to all the scheduled banks on the day, adding that some unregistered textile industries operated by violating rules, which was tarnishing the image of the country in the international market. The circular also said that a textile industry cannot operate without registration with the Department of Textiles, according to the sections 2 (6) and 12 (2) of the Textile Act, 2018. The Textile Act, 2018 was enacted to modernize the country's textile sector with the aim of meeting the domestic textile demand of the country, increasing exports and creating massive employment opportunities, the circular added.
