The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers, a not-for-profit institution that provides training programs and certifies professional qualifications for local banking and financial practitioners, has been appointed by the Education Bureau as a Professional Qualifications Assessment Agency, under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework. The accreditation is valid for five years from August 1. HKIB becomes the first professional body to be accredited and will be authorized to issue professional qualifications up to Level 6 under the HKQF, which is at the same standard as a master’s degree. This authorization will be instrumental in HKIB’s ongoing commitment to promote a common qualifications benchmark in the banking sector, said HKIB.
