Bank of Ireland staff have secured a further 4pc increase in 2024 on top of hikes this year and in 2022. A new health benefit is also in the works for staff in Northern Ireland, which will also be introduced at the same time, the bank said. The increases are in addition to pay rises of 4pc in 2022 and 3.5pc this year and the return of a staff bonus next year. The bonus and health benefit are only possible following a relaxation by the Government of banker pay rules introduced after the financial crisis. Commenting on the latest pay increase the bank’s chief people officer, Matt Elliott, said the bank wants to be among the most attractive places to work in the country.
