The new motorway scam sees fraudsters sending fake texts to members of the public purportedly from operators such as eFlow. Customers who click the links in the text messages are then directed to fake websites where they are asked for their card or online banking login details. Bank of Ireland is urging customers to be aware that a bank will never text or email looking for personal information. eFlow has also advised anyone who receives a text message regarding unpaid tolls to ignore the message and not to open any links. "As more people will be hitting the roads this Easter weekend, they might be more inclined to click on such a text message thinking it is legitimate."
