Bank holiday weekend to start on wet note as rainfall warning is issuedThe August bank holiday weekend will get off to a wet start, with Met Éireann issuing a yellow-level weather warning for rainfall tomorrow (Friday) evening and into Saturday afternoon. The warning is in place for much of the country, including Offaly, Westmeath and Roscommon, with Met Éireann predicting "spells of heavy rain" in the affected counties. The weather warning is from 6pm on Friday until 1pm on Saturday. It comes after what Met Éireann said was "provisionally Ireland's wettest July on record". July 2023 brought more than four times as much rainfall as was seen during July 2022.
