First Secretary (Diplomatic) & Head of Chancery of Bangladeshi Embassy in Libya Muhammad Muzammal Haque, confirmed the death to the Dhaka Tribune. However, The Libya Observer reported that the Bangladeshi nurse was reportedly gang raped and then murdered. The Libyan law enforcement agency has already detained seven suspected Bangladeshis in connection, a source at the Bangladeshi embassy confirmed. Al least 22000 Bangladeshi migrant workers are in Libya. The embassy official also told the Dhaka Tribune that kidnapping is now a regular incident in Libya.
