The women in red and green, who beat Afghanistan by the same margin Saturday in their opening match, lost the first set 25-16 before conceding the second 27-25. Like the second set, Bangladesh put up a brave fight in the third set but still lost 25-22 as Maldives took a step closer to the final. Maldives’ Aminath Arisha was adjudged player of the match. In the other game of the day, Nepal defeated the Afghanistan, winning the three sets 25-4, 25-9, 25-6. In Monday’s games, Kyrgyzstan will take on Nepal at 1pm while Afghanistan will face off against Maldives at 3pm.
