The Ministry of Disaster Management has sent letters to deputy commissioners sanctioning 100,153 tonnes of rice for 64 districts. Under this programme, 491 Upazilas will get 88,000 tonnes of rice and 328 municipalities will get 12,153 tonnes of rice. The deputy commissioners will update the local MPs on progress in the food aid programme. The representatives will pick up the food by Jun 14 and distribute before Eid-ul-Fitr. Within seven days of the distribution, reports will have to be submitted to the disaster management ministry.
