Bangladesh is set to host the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers’ meeting in 2018. Foreign Secretary Md Shahidul Haque led the Bangladeshi delegation at the meeting, said a press release from the foreign ministry. A draft resolution regarding the venue was unanimously adopted, welcoming the bid from Bangladesh for hosting the meeting during the second half of 2018. The meeting discussed many important issues for betterment of the OIC member states, with the key concern in Bangladesh being judged to be the Rohingya refugee crisis. Also, the foreign secretary invited OIC Secretary General Dr Yousef A Al-Othaimeen to visit Bangladesh, which he accepted.
