Turkish foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu was also present at the press briefing. Turkey hosts the Bank dedicated for LDCs. The initiative is aimed at strengthening LDCs science, technology and innovation capacities, and facilitating the transfer of technologies to LDCs. The foreign minister said the establishment of the Bank is a “major milestone” in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Istanbul Programme of Action for LDC. “We believe that all LDCs should reap the benefits of the Technology Bank, over a period,” the foreign minister said.
