This figure marks a reduction of $435.6 million compared to the $1.28 billion disbursed in the same period last year, representing a 33.98 percent drop. Conversely, Bangladesh repaid $1.126 billion in principal and interest during the same period, exceeding loan disbursements by nearly $280 million. The repayment amount was 33.14 percent higher than the disbursed foreign loans. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, Bangladesh received $9.86 billion in foreign loans but paid $3.36 billion in principal and interest.
