Bangladesh reported 10 more cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus on Thursday. Germany’s Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID) announced the detection of the 10 new cases on Thursday night. As stated by the GISAID website, the new patients infected with Omicron include seven females and three males. With the latest infections, the total number of Omicron cases in the country now stands at 20. Bangladesh is currently seeing a surge in Covid-19 cases as the health authorities logged 4,920 infections in a week.
