“The prime minister (Sheikh Hasina) has said that Bangladesh will be run in line with the Charter of Madinah. Inshallah, the prime minister will not let it (setting up statues) happen,” said Babunagari. “There cannot be any statue in the country if it is run in line with the Charter of Madinah. The Islamist groups protested against the installation of statues on different occasions, saying it is forbidden in Islam. The hard conflict in Bangladesh and the rest of the world now is between the believers and the atheists,” he said.
