Bangladesh has joined the international community and reaffirmed its commitment to the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination, national independence, sovereignty and return to their homes. On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, Bangladesh condemned the violent attacks and human rights violations against the Palestinian people, said a press release from the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday. It also denounced the illegal settlements, including the expansion plans, and any other action by the occupying force. The release said Bangladesh also called for implementing the UN Security Council resolution adopted in December 2016 that stated that the establishment of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, had no legal validity. Bangladesh reiterated her position in favour of establishing the State of Palestine on the basis of the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, added the press release.
