Mango exports from Satkhira, Bangladesh, to Europe could be hindered this year due to reduced yields attributed to Cyclone Remal and subsequent drought conditions. The affected mangoes are also of smaller size, which has led to concerns about meeting the export targets for the season. The region had an export goal of 300 tons for the season, with efforts including training for 300 farmers in Satkhira Sadar, Kalaroa, and Debhata upazilas to produce mangoes suitable for export. Hazrat Ali, from Tasin Enterprise, highlighted the high demand for Himsagar mangoes from Satkhira in the European market, though procurement has been difficult this year due to poor production. A local farmer, Rafiqul Islam, reported significantly reduced yields, impacting his ability to export.
