Bangladesh has registered 897 new Covid-19 cases taking the total caseload to 1,943,577. Among the eight divisions, Dhaka recorded the highest number of cases, with 675 infections. Another 7,976 people recovered from the illness nationwide, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,814,665. The latest figures put the recovery rate at 93.37 per cent and the mortality rate at 1.49 per cent, as per a bdnews24.com report. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
