Bangladesh issues warning over Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in aircrafts

Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) has cautioned 29 airlines operating in Bangladesh over travellers carrying Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, which were recalled by the company over complaints of catching fire. The US Federal Aviation Administration has issued somewhat similar warning on Saturday after Qantas Airways and Virgin Australia restricted the use Samsung Note 7 in their aircrafts. The leading smartphone company announced on September 2 that it has recalled at least 2.5m units of the flagship smartphone from 10 markets due to faulty battery causing the phones to catch fire while charging. It also offered full refunds or replacement devices fitted with safe batteries. In a statement on Sunday, Samsung Mobile Bangladesh said it has delayed sales of the said flagship phone in Bangladesh market since consumer safety is the company’s top priority.
