It was done at a ceremony held at the president's residence called Áras an Uachtaráin in Dublin on Thursday. Quaunine conveyed the greetings of President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the president and the people of Ireland, the Bangladesh High Commission in London said in a statement. The president was briefed on the current trends of socio-economic development in Bangladesh. He praised Hasina and her government for Bangladesh’s socio-economic progress in recent years and for accommodating and managing over half a million Rohingya people. Quaunine was accompanied by his spouse Syeda Mustari Rahman Quaunine and First Secretary Md Shafiul Alam.
