It has also been elected a member of the UNWTO Credential Committee, according to an official press release, reports BSS. It was elected the vice-president for one year by securing votes of all members of the WTO Commission for South Asia, the release said, adding that Iran contested the elections against Bangladesh. With this victory, Bangladesh will perform the responsibility of vice-president in the 23rd session of the UNWTO to be held in Russian Federation this year. Bangladesh is now performing as the chairman of the UNWTO Commission for South Asia.
