Bangladesh Navy ship sails for Maldives with food, medicines


ISPRForeign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has reiterated Bangladesh’s solidarity with the Maldives in facing the threat of Covid-19 togetherA ship of Bangladeshi Navy has sailed for the Maldives carrying medicines, equipment and food as assistance. The Bangladesh government has always come forward for any need for the neighbouring country. The Navy ship “Somudra Avijan” has sailed from Chittagong Naval Jetty on Wednesday afternoon. The ship sailed with 20 thousand sets PPE, 5,000 hand sanitizers, 960 safety glasses and 40 cartons of emergency medicine. On March 15, Bangladesh also pledged US$ 1.5 million to the Covid-19 Regional Fund proposed by India during the Saarc Leaders’ video conference.
