Bijen Banarjee, executive officer of Companiganj upazila visits the border haat site at Companiganj in Sylhet Dhaka TribuneTwo additional secretaries from both Bangladesh and India will visit the location on April 22A new border haat will be set up at the No Man's Land of Bholagonj area of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet bordering east Khashi hill of Meghalaya in India. Currently, four border haats exist on the Bangladesh-India borders, including one in Sunamgaj, Sylhet. Mohammad Nasir Ullah Khan, additional district magistrate of Sylhet, said: "Border haat management committee along with the additional secretaries will sit for meeting on April 22. The decision of building border haat was taken by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on October 23, 2010 during a visit to India to sign an agreement on border peace. The six new border haats will be located - Moulvibazar and North Tripura border, Komolganj and Kamalpur border, Companiganj and Bholaganj border, Tahirpur and Nalikata border, Doara Bazar and Rinku border, and Mymensingh and Shibbari border.
