ICT Expo 2017 is set to begin on October 18 in Dhaka, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak announced at a press conference. The exhibition is aimed at showcasing the huge potential of the Bangladesh ICT industry, especially in the hardware sector. In a press conference organised at the ICT office on October 11, Palak said: “We are organising Bangladesh ICT Expo 2017 to give the country’s hardware sector a further boost and to represent the progress of Bangladesh in the ICT sector.”“Bangladesh will be able to export ICT hardware products within the next few years. The ICT Division, Bangladesh Hi-tech Park Authority (BHTPA) and Bangladesh Computer Society are jointly organising the exhibition. On the second day of the expo, prime minister’s ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy will inaugurate the official operation of Paypal in Bangladesh on October 19.
