According to World Happiness Report 2019 released on Wednesday—on the United Nations' (UN) International Day of Happiness—Bangladesh was placed 125th among 156 countries of the world, while Sri Lanka and India were placed at the 130th and 140th positions, respectively. Bangladesh was ranked the world's 115th happiest country on last year's index. Finland was deemed the world's happiest country, for the second consecutive year, followed by: Denmark, Norway, Iceland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, New Zealand, Canada, and Austria. The rankings of the world's happiest countries came from an analysis of survey data from 156 countries conducted between 2016 and 2018.
