The death toll rose by one in the same period, taking the toll to 28,099 on Saturday. Dhaka recorded the most cases among the eight divisions, logging 943 infections. As many as 19,275 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 5.79 percent. The latest figures put the recovery rate at 97.39 percent and the mortality rate at 1.76 percent. Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
