The bandh called by Opposition parties demanding Special Category State status for Andhra Pradesh is being observed in all the important cities and towns of the State. YSRCP leaders Mustafa and Lella Appireddy were taken into custody while they were trying to enforce bandh in Guntur city. Babu Rao were taken into custody while they tried to stop RTC buses from leaving the depot. Police took into custody leaders and activists of YSRCP, CPI, CPI(M) while they tried to stop RTC buses from coming out of the depot in Visakhapatnam. Leaders and activists who have been trying to stop APSRTC buses and other vehicles have been taken into custody at Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Tirupati and here.
