Real estate company Rupayan erected the tower on a land owned by engineer SMHI Faruk. Hence, it was named Faruk Rupayan Tower, or FR Tower in short. His firm has its offices on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd floors of FR Tower. On Sunday, the police presented Faruk and Tasvir in court and sought a 10-day remand to question the two owners over the fire incident. After hearing the applications from both sides, the court dismissed the bail pleas of the building owners and placed them each on seven-day remands.
